Dec 7, 2015- An elderly person was shot by an unidentified group at Jahada VDC-5 in Siswani of Morang district on Saturday night.
The unidentified group of 3-4 armed assailants shot one Ram Prasad Mandal, 60, a shaman and a farmer by profession, of Jahada-5 in the chest at around midnight while he was sleeping at his veranda, informed District Police DSP Pramod Kharel.
Mandal’s situation is reportedly critical and is receiving medical treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences after e was referred from Biratnagar-based Koshi Zonal Hospital.
The Police have recovered one local made pistol and two rounds of live bullets from the incident site.
DSP Kharel informed that an investigation is underway and the Police is trying to determine the perpetrators.
