Eliminate false propaganda about constitution: Koirala.........

Dec 7, 2015- President of main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala has remarked that the grievances of Tarai-Madhes should be addressed by amending the constitution.

Speaking at the first death anniversary of his brother Arun Koirala here in Nepalgunj on Sunday, former Prime Minister Koirala said that the genuine demands of agitating Madhes-centric parties would be addressed. He underlined the need to eliminate false propaganda about the recently promulgated constitution.

“The agitating parties should not be pushed to the wall,” said Koirala, “As the constitution is a document of compromise and it would not be possible to include everyone’s views in it. But we should make the Madhesi people understand about it.”
Saying the problems cannot be resolved through use of force, leader Koirala hoped that an early resolution to the current crisis as the constitution amendment proposal is in process to get endorsed.

On the occasion, leader Koirala also defended the constitution that was promulgated under the leadership of NC-led government. As the constitution was written with consensus of rightist, leftist and centrist forces, it should be taken as the document of agreements, Koirala said.
